What is a deodorant? |
|
Deodorant is a hygiene product, commonly used and easily available
in almost every home.
Available in many different
forms, whether solid,
liquid, or powder.
Used mainly in the armpits,
the body odor caused by
bacterial decomposition of
sweat activity. The bacteria
‘eat’ the sweat from
apocrine glands and dead
skin cells, and release acid
3-methyl-2-hexenoic.
Most deodorant are based on alcohol. Alcohol stimulates the
production of sweat in the
first place, and also
destroy bacteria. But
alcohol can also cause skin
to become dry and sometimes
become inflamed reddish. In
addition, most of the liquid
deodorant having the anti-perspirant,
which it is able to stop or
significantly reduce the
sweat production. Thus it
reduces the moisture needed
by the bacteria.
The material most often used
as anti-perspirant is
aluminium chlorohydrate,
aluminium chloride
and
aluminium zirkonium.
Anti-perspirant based on
aluminum will react with
electrolystes in sweat,
forming a gel plugs in ‘sweat glands
ducts.’ Gel plugs
would have stopped ‘sweat
glands ducts’ from producing
liquid sweat. However, it
will eventually be removed
through a change in skin
cells.
The last findings have shown
that aluminum is
characteristically ‘poisonous
neurotoxin’,
that may sccumulate in the
body. It has been found to
cause precipitation amyloid
proteins that cause tangling
of brain cells in most
cases,'dementia'. As a
result of their study also
found evidence that aluminum
fluoride levels as low as 1
ppm, may cause adverse
effects on brain
development. Aluminum is
characteristically
‘poisonous neurotoxin’ can
potetially change the
function ‘blood brain
barrier’, and it is one
element that does not have
the function and benefit of
living cells.
It is not surprising that
the use of aluminum in
anti-perspirant said to be
related to the
‘systemic accumulation of
aluminum’ , cause of
Alzheimer's disease.
It has been found through a
study in 2004 by Dr Kris
McGrath, a member of the
Chicago allergic claimed to
have discovered the
relationship between
anti-perspirant, shaved
armpit and cancer. He
believes that the material
cause in the anti-perspirant
is a poison in aluminum salt
such as aluminum
chlorohydrate, aluminum
chloride dan aluminium
zirkonium. He says that
although the materials are
not normally penetrate the
skin and not a problem, but
with shaving can cause the
opposite to the skin. Shave
behavior actually,
irritating the skin like
opening the door for the
entry of materials, because
there are just under the
skin at
lymphatic system, which
connects to the breast.
In the research, more than
400 people with
breast
cancer in Chicago
acknowledged that they used
the antiperspirants and
shave the armpits.
He found that women who do
shave armpits often suffer
breast cancer 22 years
earlier than who do not.
Lastly, the British
researcher, has found the
traces of other chemicals
called paraben used as
preservatives in the
deodorant, the network is
taken from women with breast
cancer. They have also
published their findings in
the Journal of
Toxicology which give a
possibility of cosmetics
used on the armpits to be
among the factors that cause
breast cancer. Although
there is not clear how the
proposed mechanism, but it
sure is safer to avoid all
antiperspirant and
deodorant, which contains
the materials for the
saftey.

The Difference Between Deodorant
and
Antiperspirant? |
|
To preserve and protect your skin stay healthy,
dry and prevent irritation, it is important to
know the difference between deodorants and
antiperspirant. There are many types of
deodorant and antiperspirant on the market, but
before making a choice we need to know the brand
and flavor.
1.Deodorant
i. Deodorant
used to cover the odor or destroy the bacteria
that cause odor. It does not work to prevent
sweat production,
but rather function
eliminates the side effects when a person sweats,
either by destroying the bacteria that serves to
do the decomposition of sweat, the source of
unpleasant odors.
ii. Deodorant can be used on
any part of the body, not just in the armpit.
Although very popular deodorants are used on the
armpits, but it is also suitable for use on any
part of the body, which is usually undesirable
odor.
iii. Deodorant is available either in
mineral form, gel, powder, cream and spray.
For the deodorant in powder form and suitable
for use in the leg, while the cream and
deodorant spray suitable for use under the arm
or armpit.
2.Antiperspirant.
i. Many assume that is a
subset of deodorants antiperspirant,
but this perception is not accurate.
Deodorant actually prevent odor, while
antiperspirant block sweat.
ii. Among the main content of
antiperspirant is aluminum compounds that
working effectively to reduce sweat production.
iii. Antiperspirant
enters your body through sweat
and form a temporary plug to not allow the
release of sweat. It was like a block of
cork on the bottle opening.
iv. Unlike deodorant, antiperspirant usually
only used in the under arm area of the body
only, and is rarely used in the rest of the body.
v. Such as deodorants,
antiperspirant available in various form,
including gel, cream, powder and spray. |
|
What is the
function of aluminum compounds in antiperspirant
and deodorant? |
|
Aluminum compounds used as active materials in
antiperspirant. These compounds form a temporary
plug in the sweat channels,
stop the flow of sweat to the skin surface.
Several studies have shown that aluminum
compounds are often used and idle time on the
skin, especially near the breast,
can be absorbed by the skin which eventually
lead to estrogen effects. Generally known that
estrogen has the ability to promote breast
cancer cell growth. Some scientists have stated
that the aluminum compounds found in
antiperspirant may contribute to the development
of breast cancer. |
|
What is the
function of paraben in antiperspirant and deodorant? |
|
Several studies have also focused on paraben,
preservatives used in some deodorant and
anti-perspirant activity of the estrogen in the
body cells. For users of deodorant and
antiperspirant can know the presence of
methilparaben, propilparaben, butilparaben, or benzilparaben.
The belief that says paraben accumulated in
breast tissue has been supported by studies in
2004 , which have found paraben in 18 of 20
tissue samples of human breast cancer. However,
these studies do not prove that paraben can
cause cancer. Author of the study didn't analyze
healthy breast tissue or tissue from other parts
of the body, and also didn't show that paraben
is found in breast cancer tissue. Also, studies
have not identified the source of paraben and
didn't sure that paraben is a result of the use
of deodorant or anti-perspirant.
Indeed, more research needs to be done to ensure
the use of deodorant and antiperspirant that can
cause paraben and aluminum compounds in breast
tissue. Studies also need to identify whether
all or part of this material may alter the DNA
in some cells or may result in changes in the
cells of the breast, which eventually led to the
formation of breast cancer. |
|
What is the relationship between antiperspirant
or deodorant with breast cancer? |
|
|
In
2002,
been reported a study on the relationship
between breast cancer with armpit antiperspirant
or deodorant. The study does not indicate an
increased risk of breast cancer to woman who use
the armpit antiperspirant or deodorant. Result
of the study also showed that no increased risk
of breast cancer to women who used the razor
blade (not electric) and antiperspirant or
armpit deodorant, or for women who reported
using antiperspirant deodorant at armpit or in
an hour shaving with razor balde. This
conclusion was based on interviews with 813
women with breast cancer and 793 women without a
history of breast cancer.
But in
2003,
in a different study, has issued a finding in
relation to the frequency of armpit shaving and
the use antiperspirant/deodorant by 437 victoms
of breast cancer. This research found that age
of women who get breast cancer significantly
earlier in women who use the product and make
more frequent shaving their armpits. In
addition, women who have done custom to shave
the armpits and use deodorant antiperspirant
before the age of 16 is suffering from breast
cancer at an earlier age than those who do it
slowly.
Although these
results show that armpit shaving habits and use
of antiperspirant deodorant may have something
to do with breast cancer, but it did not show
conclusive result, with respect to the
relationship between customary practice (armpits
shaving habits and use of antiperspirant
deodorant) in breast cancer.

Why choose a natural deodorant ? |
Antiperspirant |
Most people
think that
antiperspirant
and
deodorant
are the
same.
In fact,
they are
very
different
products.
The
fundamental
difference
lies in the
mechanism of
this
function
product,
and its
potential
influence
the health.
In essence,
both are the
chemicals
used
different
processes to
reduce body
odor.
Some
specific
materials in
the product
are not good
for health.
However,
deodorant
often
referred to
as a better
alternative
than most
antiperspirant.
Antiperspirant,
although
have
fragrances,
it also
contains
chemical
compounds
that can
clog, close
or block the
pores with
powerful
astringents
such as
aluminum
chloride
salt,
aluminum
chlohydrate
and
aluminum
zirkonium
so sweat
can't be
released.
(Note
: aluminum
may accumulate in the brain)

Ordinary Deodorant |
While the
deodorant
works by
neutralizing
sweat smell
and act as
antiseptic,
killing
bacteria
that
function as
disentangle
sweat, cause
unpleasant
odors, as
well as
cover the
smell.
Deodorant
doesn't
prevent
sweating,
but prevents
odor.
Many people
have a wrong
perception
about the
deodorant,
which
thought that
it was only
the material
that covers
the body
odor
aromatic.
Thus, they
are more
likely to
choose
antiperspirant,
which they
only
consider it
function,
compared
deodorants
on the
assumption
that only
cover the
smell.
In
conclusion,
deodorant is
better
because it
doesn't
interfere
with
sweating,
the body's
natural
cooling
process.
Consumer
groups
around the
world
continued to
voice their
concerns on
safety and
public
health
related to
beauty
products,
and there is
no exception
for
deodorant
and
antiperspirant.
Several
studies have
shown the
potential
health risk
associated
with the
aluminum
compounds
found in
most
antiperspirant.
Similar
studies have
also found
the risk may
be due in
some
deodorant
that have
paraben.
Both have
been
associated
with several
chronic
diseases,
including
breast
cancer.
Most of the
manufacturers
and various
world health
body, said
that, the
study have
no
sufficient
basis for
their
claims.
Although
there is a
guarantee,
along with
certificate
of health
professionals
in relation
to the
absence of
evidence
that can be
associated
risks of
various
diseases
with use of
antiperspirant
and
deodorant
but
the use of
deodorant is
recommended
against the
use of
antiperspirant
cause
antiperspirant
that prevent
pores and
sweat may
not be a
healthy
choice.

Bioasli Deodorant |
Like most
deodorant, Bioasli deodorant
doesn't work to prevent
sweat, but function losing
ancillary effects when
person sweat,
neutralize sweat smell and
act as antiseptic, by
killing bacteria that
function as disentangle
sweat,
cause unpleasant odors, as
well as cover the smell.
The presence of virgin
coconut oil, which is
antibacterial, antiviral and
antifungal as its main
components, makes it very
effective to prevent any
bacteria activity in any
part of the human skin that
have potential to generate
odors.
Apart from virgin coconut
oil is made up of MCFA
helpfully preserve any part
of the skin which involved.
Virgin coconut oil is very
capable to help increase
growth rate cells to replace
any dead skin cells. As a
result the skin will stay
elastic and fresh. While
antioxidant content in
virgin coconut oil is very
capable to block any free
radical activity reaction,
help delay the wrinkles on
any skin which involved.
Something interesting about
Bioasli deodorant is free
from paraben that commonly
used in most deodorants and
antiperspirant.
Although Bioasli deodorant
is popular use at armpit,
but it also suitable use at
any part of human body
commonly produce
objectionable odors, such as
in the placenta, or any
other part that necessary. |
